Arkansas Gymnastic's Magee still No. 1; team No. 7

FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas senior All-American Casey Jo Magee is ranked No. 1 in the nation on beam for the second week in a row while the Razorback gymnastics team has moved up to No. 7 in this week's poll.

Arkansas is coming off a 196.925-194.850 victory at No. 22 Minnesota and hosts No. 40 Pittsburgh on Friday at 7 p.m. in Barnhill Arena.

The Razorbacks have been ranked in the top 10 all season and were No. 8 the last two weeks before moving up to No. 7 this week.

In the event rankings, Arkansas is No. 6 on beam, tied for No. 8 on vault, No. 9 on bars and No. 12 on floor.

Individually, Magee is again No. 1 in the country on beam. She reached the top spot in the nation last week, becoming the first Razorback to earn a No. 1 ranking. Her RQS score is a 9.920. She was alone atop the nation last week, but is tied with Oklahoma's Hollie Vise for No. 1 this week.

In the all-around rankings, Magee is No. 4 and sophomore All-American Jaime Pisani is No. 11. On vault, Pisani is No. 8 and Magee tied for No. 17. Magee is tied for No. 19 on bars. Senior All-American Sarah Nagashima joins Magee in the beam rankings and is tied for No. 20. On floor, Pisani is No. 8 and Magee tied for No. 24.

In the South Central Regional rankings, Arkansas is No. 2 overall. In the events, the Razorbacks are No. 2 on bars and beam, No. 3 on vault and No. 4 on floor.

Individually, Magee is No. 2 in the all-around, Pisani No. 3 and Nagashima No. 11. On vault, Pisani is No. 2 and Magee tied for No. 4. On bars, Magee is No. 3, Amy DeFilippo No. 8, Pisani tied for No. 9 and Nagashima No. 18. On beam, Magee is tied for No. 1, Nagashima tied for No. 7, Pisani and junior Stacy Bartlett tied for No. 15, and DeFilippo is No. 19. On floor, Pisani is No. 2, Magee tied for No. 8 and Kelci Lewis No. 16.

Promotions for Friday's meet include a t-shirt giveaway sponsored by Jason's Deli and a PlayStation console and game package giveaway to a UA student. Friday is also Health Club Appreciation Night. Anyone with a gym membership card will be admitted for $1.
