Picking bowl games is tough

Editor note: Confidence shaken by recent history, the approach to an annual bowl-picking contest has been revamped.
The idea of the competition is to list the most likely winner of a bowl game as No. 35, the next most likely as No. 34, and work backwards to the least confident selection. A year ago, the betting lines were used to identify the heaviest favorites, which were then plugged into the first half dozen spots or so.
Before pursuing that path again, I decided to check on the 2010 results. No. 3
