Editor note: Uekman, Three Freshmen Honored
Arkansas tight end Garrett Uekman, who died Nov. 20, was honored by the Southeastern Conference on Monday when it announced the All-Freshman team.
Uekman, who died from an undiagnosed heart condition, was named the honorary captain of the team. The redshirt freshman played in nine games before his death one day after Arkansas’ 44-17 win against Mississippi State in Little Rock.
