Editor note: For the second time in as many years, ULM gets to open its season against a Heisman candidate. Last year, the Warhawks were engulfed with preseason and Week 1 talks of Texas quarterback Colt McCoy and this year it’s Arkansas’ Ryan Mallett. The quarterback competition around the ULM campus may not result in a bronze statue, but it’s enough to occupy many of first-year head coach Todd Berry’s press conferences and meet and greets.
