FAYETTEVILLE - University of Arkansas football players Alex Tejada and Anthony Leon were named national players of the week at their respective positions, it was announced Sunday by College Football Performance Awards. Tejada receives the honor for his kickoff specialist duties during Saturday's 44-3 victory vs. Tennessee Tech. Leon picked up linebacker honors. Razorback kicker Tejada recorded four touchback kickoff efforts in the UA-TTU matchup, while Leon, who recently switched to linebacker, led UA in tackles with eight tackles (six solo, two assisted). UA offensive unit members Ryan Mallett and Joe Adams were named honorable mention picks at quarterback and wide receiver, respectively. Mallett tied the Arkansas record for passing touchdowns in a season opener with his three throwing scores. Two of Mallett's touchdowns were in the hands of Adams, who finished the night with six catches for 138 yards and the two scores.
