New game day services available

FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas Athletics Department will offer fans at 2010 Razorback football games new additions to its event management services, as well as updated policies to ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere for fans and visitors.

For the first time this season, free of charge, there is an opportunity to pick up child locator ID bracelets for young Razorback fans attending games. The bracelet will allow the parent to store information on it and it is also waterproof. Once secured on a child's wrist, the bracelet can only be cut off by an adult.

Bracelets are available at guest services centers at Gates 1, 13, 16 and at the Hog Heaven store at Razorback Stadium. Fans may also ask a member of the event management staff about obtaining a bracelet. Bracelets are available while supplies last.

New for the 2010 Arkansas football season, a text messaging service will be available inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium that will allow fans to communicate directly with event management personnel on important security and guest service issues.

Fans needing assistance should text HOGS, the issue and the location to 69050. Standard text message rates and other charges may apply.

Razorback fans are reminded that they may also contact the nearest usher or security personnel, or stop by the nearest guest services location to report an issue.

UA fans are reminded that 2010 Football Fan Guide, is available on ArkanasRazorbacks.com (click here). The fan guide, provides a variety of information including shuttle locations and times, stadium amenities, as well as stadium policies and procedures, including a list of prohibited items.

Tobacco Use Policy/Smoking Fine
Effective July 1, 2008, the University of Arkansas campus has been tobacco free. This ban includes: cigarettes, pipes, cigars, dip or chew anywhere on campus. This also includes no stadium exiting for tobacco use outside the stadium. Violations of the Arkansas smoking law may be subject to a fine.

Route to Stadium, Parking and stadium access

For travel to and parking around Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, fans should be sure take into account the heavy flow of traffic. If parking north of the stadium, it may be best to approach from the north and likewise for parking south of the stadium.

Beginning in 2009 and continuing in 2010, public gates to Razorback Stadium will open two hours prior to kickoff. Suite holders will still be permitted access at specific gates (C, 1 and 15) three hours prior to kickoff.

Also beginning in 2009 and continuing in 2010, the area immediately south of the stadium between the practice fields and south end zone structure will be closed to foot traffic immediately following the first quarter and will remain closed during the game and one hour following the game. All pedestrians accustomed to using the drive between the south part of the stadium and practice fields to access east or west sides of the stadium will require another pathway. This change was prompted by numerous safety risks for pedestrians with emergency and other vehicular traffic also moving within the area. This area will remain open to pedestrians before games with a brief closure upon arrival of visiting team buses.

Good sportsmanship
Razorback fans are the best of the best. They model this by loudly supporting the Razorbacks and displaying respect and good sportsmanship toward the visiting team and visiting fans. The NCAA, SEC and UA have assigned a high priority to assuring athletic events are conducted in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere which promotes good sportsmanship by spectators, student-athletes and coaches. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants, officials, those around you, and event management in a positive manner and treating others with courtesy and respect. Refrain from throwing objects onto the field for any reason. Do not enter the playing areas at any time, unless directed to do so in an emergency situation, including after-game celebration.
