FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas is proud to announce former Razorback kicker Bill McClard as the A Club Razorback honorary captain for Saturday's season opener against Tennessee Tech.

The Razorbacks host Tennessee Tech at 6 p.m. CT inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

The University of Arkansas Athletic Department and the Razorback Foundation A Club is presenting an honorary captain for each home game this season. Each honorary captain will be honored prior to the game on the field, recognized on the RazorVision and accompany the Razorback captains to midfield for the coin toss. The honorary captain also appears at the Legends Tent in the AT&T Hog Trough approximately 90 minutes before game time.

McClard lettered from 1969-71. He is currently eighth on Arkansas' all-time made field goals list with 29, and his 212 career points rank 10th. McClard led the Razorbacks in scoring in each of his final two seasons.

McClard helped lead the Razorbacks to three consecutive bowl games, including the 1969 and 1970 Sugar Bowls. He earned All-Southwest Conference and All-America honors in 1970 and 1971. In 1971, he won the Crip Hall Homecoming Performance Award.

McClard went on to play in the National Football League for the San Diego Chargers in 1972 and the New Orleans Saints from 1973-75.
