FAYETTEVILLE - University of Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett is featured today by Sports Illustrated on its website, SI.com. Columnist George Schroeder examined the excitement surrounding the Razorbacks' upcoming football season, centrally because of the standout quarterbacking by Mallett. Mallett, a native of Texarkana, Ark., has figured into college football discussions around the country since the conclusion of his record-breaking 2009 season. Mallett set or tied 16 school records en route to leading the SEC in touchdown passes (30), passing yards per game (278.8) and total offense per game (276.5). Already on many postseason award short lists, Mallett was recently named to the O'Brien Award watch list. The award is presented annually to the nation's top collegiate quarterback.
